China Chips Export Soars 25%: $542.7B
The latest data released by the customs have left Europe and America bewildered.
They were planning to sanction and suppress our semiconductor and chip industry, but now they are witnessing a significant increase in China's chip exports.
According to the data published by the customs, in the first half of 2024, China's integrated circuit exports reached 542.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25%, and it is expected that this year's chip exports will exceed 1 trillion yuan, maintaining rapid growth.
More importantly, the increase in chip exports ranks first among all types of goods exported.
The automotive exports, which have been very popular in recent years, reached 391.7 billion yuan in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 22%, but they did not exceed the growth rate of chip exports.

The significant increase in chip and automotive exports also indicates that our industrial transformation has achieved fruitful results, and the manufacturing industry is continuously advancing towards high-end industries, especially from the import and export of chips, which can be clearly felt.
After organizing the data released by the customs over the years, it was found that China's chip exports have been rising year by year, while chip imports have been declining year by year, and the deficit in the chip industry is continuously narrowing.
In 2019, China's chip exports were $101.5 billion, and imports were $305.5 billion, resulting in a deficit of $203.9 billion.
By 2020, the deficit reached $233.4 billion, and by 2021, it reached $278.7 billion, which was the peak year.
In 2022, the deficit gradually declined to $261.6 billion, and in 2023, it reached $213.4 billion.
Moreover, the growth rate of chip exports in the first half of this year has set a new high, indicating that China's chip industry is rapidly developing, which has also exceeded the expectations of Europe and America.
Europe and America can only wryly smile: they didn't manage to stop us after all.
Over the past 40 years, China's semiconductor industry has been slow to progress due to the influence of the idea that "it's better to buy than to make, and better to rent than to buy."
Since the United States has imposed sanctions on China's high-end industries in recent years, it has instead forced China to accelerate the development of its semiconductor industry.
Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, has previously stated that the United States will never be able to prevent China from having powerful chips.
Now it seems that his words have come true.
Over the years, China has successively established the first, second, and third phases of the National Integrated Circuit Industry Investment Fund, raising 138.7 billion, 204.2 billion, and 344 billion respectively, investing heavily to drive the development of the domestic semiconductor industry.
Moreover, the duration of the third phase is as long as 15 years, which is 5 years longer than the first and second phases.
This indicates that the country will provide strong and long-term financial support for the development of the semiconductor industry, and the third phase of the big fund is expected to bring an additional investment of 1.5 trillion yuan to China's semiconductor industry.
At present, China's chip industry is entering a period of rapid growth.
The domestic replacement of mid-to-low-end chips has been realized, but in the field of high-end chips, there is still a dependence on imports.
Looking at the entire chip industry, we have reached a leading level in chip design and packaging testing, and at least we are not constrained by others.
However, in chip manufacturing, we are constrained by high-end lithography machines and cannot produce advanced chips with high process technology.
In fact, China also has its own lithography machines, and we can also independently manufacture mid-to-low-end chips, but we cannot manufacture advanced chips, such as 3nm and 5nm.
Currently, the EUV lithography machine of the Dutch ASML company is the crystallization of the highest technology in the world's lithography technology, and its important components come from more than ten developed countries such as the United States, Japan, Germany, and Sweden.
Currently, no country can completely achieve manufacturing, but as the world's largest industrial country, China is going to challenge this goal next.
We have no choice because the United States has joined forces with Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, and other countries to jointly blockade us and implement technological blockade.
At present, 90% of our conventional chips can be self-sufficient, complete domestic replacement, and do not need to be imported.
It is expected that by 2025, a complete domestic chip industry chain can be truly established, gradually get rid of foreign technology monopoly, and ultimately truly move towards chip industry autonomy.
In the field of high-end chips and manufacturing, we continue to work hard in terms of capital, technology, and talent teams.
As long as we give enough time, we believe that China's semiconductor industry will eventually break through, and then China will also become a true technological power.
